Bouygues Construction
Background
The Civic Centre in Hounslow town centre is a seven-storey building designed as a hub for the local community. As well as accommodating all the council’s office staff and civic meeting rooms, it features a “state-of-the-art” library on the first floor, exhibition space and café.
Bouygues UK was the main contractor for the office project. Construction started in January 2017, and towards the end of the construction period they came to us to ensure the centre could offer first class, consistent mobile signal that matched the standard of their design.
Solution
Due to the divisional design of the new construction, all floors were segregated into 46 distinct separate areas distributed over 6 floors, requiring a carefully thought out hybrid digital and DAS solution. It required an extensive installation of 22 Network Units(NU), and 66 Coverage Units(CU) with an attached DAS to reach all areas in scope.
Challenges
The main challenges were implementing a balanced design, keeping the solution on budget, and ensuring it was project managed to meet required timescales.
Result
All areas of the building now benefit from reliable coverage with an average -65dBm (3G) and -69dBm (4G) on all networks. This site benefits from Zonegen’s unique Support Maintenance and Monitoring offering.
